Meet the Mikes of MovieMikes.com

Michael A. Smith, 49, has been the film critic for the Leavenworth (Kansas) Times for the past eight years. He has also been the film critic and a featured writer (“Mike’s Rant”) for Nolan’s Pop Culture Review (www.crazedfanboy.com) for the past decade. He is a weekly contributor to the RottenTomatoes web site and has recently had his reviews featured at www.moviehole.net. He currently serves as Vice President of the Kansas City Film Critics Circle, the second oldest professional film critics’ association in the United States. Smith resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Michael Gencarelli, 27, currently authors the weekly box office report found at the www.moviehole.net web site. He also recently began contributing reviews to the site. He previously ran the www.boxofficewizard.com web site and was a contributor to both www.myvideostore.com and www.darkhorizons.com. He is currently producing the independent feature “The Supernaturalz,” which is now in production in Long Island, NY. He grew up in NY and recently moved to Orlando, FL.

The Mikes both cite “JAWS” as their favorite film and in fact first met at JAWSFest in 2005. They both are featured in the critically acclaimed documentary, “The Shark Is Still Working.”
